Pilates for Life

[text_block style=”style_1.png” align=”left”]Do you have any of the following conditions?

  • Osteoporosis or Osteopenia
  • Osteo or Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Spondylitis or Spondylosis
  • Non-specific back or joint pain
  • Any sort of mobility problem

If you suffer with any of these conditions and would like to do some gentle exercise to help build your strength and improve your posture then Pilates for Life at Bulkington Village Centre is for you!

Pilates and yoga are commonly recommended by GP’s for people with mobility problems but the challenge with these sorts of classes is the fact that you are required to work on the floor and there are usually some elements of forward bending and twisting which is often contra-indicated for people with bone conditions like osteoporosis.

Pilates for Life uses Pilates principles such as slow and controlled movement whilst focusing on breathing to build overall body strength and improve posture.

The class is on every Monday (except Bank Holidays) and arrival is from 1.50pm to have a chat and complete a health questionnaire if you haven’t already done so (see below for details). The session then runs from 2 – 2.45pm. Sessions are £5 paid on the day.

You don’t need any special exercise clothes – just anything comfortable is fine. And it’s a good idea to bring a drink of water.

If you would like to come along please complete the health questionnaire here…
